Impeachment, the Mini-Series: Sponsored By Malice and Stupidity
“Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.” – anonymous police officer
The Barbarian – Hilaire Belloc
The Barbarian hopes — and that is the mark of him, that he can have his cake and eat it too. He will consume what civilization has slowly produced after generations of selection and effort, but he will not be at pains to replace such goods, nor indeed has he a comprehension of the virtue that has brought them into being.
Discipline seems to him irrational, on which account he is ever marveling that civilization, should have offended him with priests and soldiers…. In a word, the Barbarian is discoverable everywhere in this, that he cannot make: that he can befog and destroy but that he cannot sustain; and of every Barbarian in the decline or peril of every civilization exactly that has been true.
We sit by and watch the barbarian. We tolerate him in the long stretches of peace, we are not afraid. We are tickled by his irreverence; his comic inversion of our old certitudes and our fixed creed refreshes us; we laugh. But as we laugh we are watched by large and awful faces from beyond, and on these faces there are no smiles.
The Russians got their money’s worth out of a disinformation campaign that targeted both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Throw in some Ukrainian oligarchs who were sympathetic to Russia, and some elitists in the United States that became useful idiots, and we’ve had almost four years of national turmoil.
Tears of mourning after Ms. Clinton’s loss in 2016 turned into rage and psychotic obsession. Rage and obsession that was not confined to the political class. The mainstream media went after the 63 million voters that voted for Mr. Trump.
Disinformation and corruption is a fine art in Russia. Corruption is no stranger to Washington, DC.

The Russians, or whoever started this shenanigan, succeeded beyond their wildest, most ambitious, hopes and expectations. The more I read what leading Democrats say, in their own words, out loud, in public, the more horrified I am at how stupid they really are. Not just not well educated, just dumb as eggplants. No wonder they accepted Obama’s schtick of being smart. Dang they are dumb. Capable at being corrupted, but dumb.
If the Russians hadn’t done it, another excuse would have been found. Donald J. is not the “right sort of people” to be President, and those voting for such a one are not the right sort of people to have the franchise, or so saith our soi disant betters.
Our intelligence agencies, the Democrats, the media and the Bulwark crowd could not have been better tools for Putin if they’d been paid agents of the Kremlin.
Let’s call it a twofer.
The Barbarians look like the r’s in theanonymousconservative’s r/K Selection Theory.
The disinformation will last for ever. 100 years from now kids in school will learn about Russian collusion and Hands Up, Don’t Shoot. I don’t think Russia (the country) had any part of this. The disinformation was created and propagated by the DNC.
Say what you will about Trump, his lasting positive legacy will be irrefutably exposing the MSM as not just full time (D) operatives , but Trump revealed the MSM as more than willing to corrupt themselves to achieve (D) control of government.
Trump is the black light at the crime scene of media bias.
Maybe I’ve missed it, but I have yet to see any evidence at all that the Steele “dossier” came from Russia, or Russians, at all. The first time I heard Her Annointedness announce “her” revelation:
The harm this has all done to the country I think has not been realized yet. The Dems have been the barbarians at the gate. I just hope they can restrain themselves after Trump gets re-elected. Or are we going to go through this again? It would serve the nation, not just our political conservative objectives, if the Dems in the House got wiped out over this. Punishment for this sort of stupid malice is the only thing that might prevent future Congresses from attempting this. The worst thing for the country would be if Trump loses. Then it worked. That would create the incentive to do it again and again.
It has not even finished yet. They are busily delegitimizing the result, like they did with the last election and will with the next.
And with the Kavansugh hearings. They are despicable.
Not learned stupid, baked in stupid.
