Lady Justice Is in the House
At Townhall.com this morning, there is an epic political cartoon by Steve Kelley. A picture says a thousand words and all:
There have been hundreds of conversations here at Ricochet over the years regarding the Weissman* Special Counsel investigation (hat tip @gumbymark). I should know, I may have penned a third of ’em. From its inception, we knew that there was something truly rotten in the deep state of Denmark DC. Sessions’ recusal and Rosenstein’s appointment of Mueller immediately following an interview with President Trump for Comey’s job. You can’t make this stuff up! And it turns out the especially tainted and full-of-conflicts Special Counsel Mueller let Weissman run the whole thing from the get-go. And a witch hunt it was.
The wheels of justice turn slowly, but eventually truth will find its way out of the seclusion of Hillary’s lockbox. Career agents within the FBI and DOJ could not stomach the corruption at the highest levels of these supposedly apolitical organizations. So they found ways to leak the truth themselves to offset the daily leaks of lies from the Weissman cabal intended to decide this case “hoax” in the court of public opinion, or at worst goad the President into some sort of obstruction charge. (Obstructing what, his own exoneration?)
Well, the pieces are starting to come into place. The lie that went halfway around the world (and back and then some), aided and abetted by a so-called Fourth Estate that would make Leni Riefenstahl blush, is finally being subjected to sunlight. And boy are the cockroaches scurrying about, or what?! You have Brennan/Clapper blaming Comey. We have Rod Rosenstein slamming Comey as a “partisan pundit.” The middle management of the Biggest Scam In American History is warming up to start singing. Who knows where this will go?
There is a new sheriff in town. And … “If there is a predicate for an investigation (yes, Dorothy, there is!), It Will Be Conducted!“
So, it is popcorn time! The very coercion that the Weissman team inflicted on others is coming home to roost! The tactic of “the use of a criminal as a witness” is upon us…
In the hands of an experienced physician, a scalpel is a marvelous tool. It can remove a deadly tumor or repair a diseased heart … A cooperating criminal used as a witness against other criminals is much like a scalpel.
There is an amazing cast of characters criminal witnesses to choose from … Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe, John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, Rod Rosenstein, Bruce Ohr, Nellie Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Peter Strzok, Sally Yates, Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Loretta Lynch, Ben Rhodes, Steven Laycock, Kathleen Kavalec … the list is endless. And none of them will want to be the last in line to tell their story.
Oh man, this is setting up to be the blockbuster movie of the Summer of 2019! The tables are turned … and we enter Round 8 following the first seven rounds of the Rope-A-Dope strategy …
… and President Trump says … “Hope you had fun investigating me … now it’s my turn.”

It’s so hilarious how the Left’s oh-so-clever schemes always blow up in their little faces.

Meep. Meep.
Comey says Brennan wanted to include the dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian interference with the 2016 election. Brennan says Comey did, or at least our old friend the “unnamed source” says Brennan said.
Note to self: buy more popcorn.
An hour ago I posted a small comment on Legal Insurrection to the effect that the popcorn strategy is not so good, and have been thinking about it a little more since then. The problem is that the forces of dark swampness are working 24×7 to keep all of this submerged in the swamp, and that we can’t just sit back and enjoy the show. We need to be applying such small public pressure as each of us can. And it sends a bad message about our objectives to ourselves and to the bad guys if we’re just doing this for entertainment.
Yeah, I know. I’m taking this too seriously.
Blame Game: Clapper, Brennan and Comey Start Turning On Each Other …. Katie Pavlich @ townhall.com
Trey Gowdy: “Comey’s got a better argument than Brennan based on what I have seen.”
Have you ever heard of the “cutthroat defense?” It’s when the various guilty parties try to transfer as much guilt as possible to their fellow defendants.
And there’s a “Sid Vicious” role too!
Really warm, if you think Sidney Blumenthal passed information to Steele for the Dossier. … Trey Gowdy
Behind a paywall, but today at the WSJ, Kim Strassel echoes the themes with her article “Bull Durham At Justice”.
The appointment of U.S. Attorney John Durham by AG William Barr to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. Mr. Durham’s scope will be the FBI and beyond, including the CIA and other intelligence bodies. He has the cooperation of CIA Director Gina Haspel, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats. A couple of excerpts from the article …
One wonders what in the world Jeff Sessions and Rod Rosenstein were thinking in 2017. They allowed the path that was taken. If only William Barr had been named by President Trump as his Attorney General in January, 2017, imagine how very different things might have been. Well, it is never too late for truth and justice. And think of how more powerful such truth and justice will be following the travesty of the past two years. This should set the democrat party back, and their bought and paid for DNC-run media sycophants, for decades to come.
Yeah, I am mystified about Sessions. I thought he was a good guy and a bulldog. He was AWOL the whole time. In hindsight his early endorsement of Trump just before the Alabama primary almost looks like a setup to infiltrate the campaign early. Maybe they had something on him. Very disappointing.
I think Session was good at pointing out problems. However, no stomach for a bare knuckles fight. Sad.
