A Multipurpose Post
First, it’s my sixth anniversary as a Ricochet Member (December 29, 2012). Second, it’s my 350th post. It has been a pretty fine six years, for both me and Ray. We have met numerous other Members in person, at various Ricochet meetups, and we have enjoyed every single one (meetup and member). We participated in “Vegas, Baby” in 2013, and Montana in 2017. We met Members in Phoenix in 2014, Philadelphia in 2015, and Tahoe in 2015; Seattle in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. It’s been a great ride, and we are looking forward to meeting more members in 2019.
One important thing about being a Ricochet Member is that, wherever you travel, you need never be alone in a strange city. We have learned from experience that there are Ricochetti virtually everywhere! Another important benefit of membership is that you are never alone in your hurt or despair. If life keeps giving you bumps, your Ricochet friends will help you through and over them. You need never go through trials and tribulations alone. Being a Ricochet Member means you gain a whole, big, new family.
Thanks to all our Ricochet Friends for all the good times and great conversations. Onward to the New Year!

It’s a family that’s very much smarter than I am and pretty much ignores me. My own family isn’t smarter than I am and they ignore me too. So. it’s all good and sometimes I learn something.
I enjoyed meeting You, Ray, and other Ricochet members in Montana. Hope we can get together at another Ricochet Meetup soon.
You made our trip to the West so much more enjoyable. Meeting you before our Alaskan cruise was a brilliant idea!
I try to notify our Ricochet friends whenever we travel, so we can meet more of them. We will be in Southern California in February for that Hillsdale function, and we are always up for mini-meetups.
What a lovely family Ricochet is! Thank you for the invitation to visit you in Seattle during my September vacation. I never got to Washington State so I had to decline.
What is the Hillsdale function? And where? I should look it up and come join you. Any excuse to visit SoCal.
National Leadership Seminar, entitled “Principles and Politics”, in Costa Mesa (Hilton Costa Mesa/Orange County Airport). February 20-21. We are staying through Friday the 22nd, flying home on the 23rd. Shelby Steele is one of the featured speakers. We can bring two guests free. Attendees are responsible for lodging.
Informative post, I joined Ricochet a couple weeks ago but never really considered the face-to-face aspect of it and all the opportunities to do it. I didn’t think of events at all. I live in Europe so I don’t know how many events I’d be able to make but I do hope to meet some members at some point. If anyone ever makes a trip over to Poland, please let me know.
Congratulations!
I forgot my Ricochet anniversary . . .
Happy Anniversary, Rushbabe!
Right. If anyone is traveling and will have a free evening, you should put up a post in the Ricochet Meetup Group. It’s the central place to make connections for meetups. And if you are curious about some of the past meetups you can go to this page, and select one of the History pages for links to post-meetup reports and pictures.
You changed your avatar. (How am I suppose to find you now?)
Should I post a link to the Janet Jackson “Black Cat” song?
You must have missed my post on “change your avatar to your pet”. A bunch of us changed our avatars to our pets, and mine remains The Lady Kikyo, for the time being. If you are into things Japanese, including anime, you might know after whom our kitty is named. And please, please, do not post any links to Janet or any other Jackson-definitely not my cup of tea.
