Goodbye, Dolly: Ridiculously Spoiled Jewish American Princess Wants the Great White North

Barbara Streisand, in the most liberal country in the world, has ridden on the back of her Jewish “look” all her life. We are to be so sympathetic to her because after all, she isn’t 5′ 11″ and blond. Meanwhile, the American movie industry and Broadway have lavished an endless amount of hype over her talents. Yes, she has a good voice but her acting is limited to one stock character, a fast-talking New York Jewish girl. However, it wasn’t Hollywood who typecasted her this way. Even when she had total artistic control, something few in the world have, her characterization was off the rack. Of course, it must have been the prejudice of Hollywood that held her back. By the way, there are a lot of really good singers out there. They all didn’t get the breaks our Miss Barbara got.

Her movie Yentl reveals her completely self-centered personality. She has no sense of Russian history or what Jews endured and why the Russian Jews really came to America. Instead, she projected backward her own gender-confused “woke” values. Stalin purging Jews, Hitler coming to power and murdering Jews, or Americans dying to liberate the world, all are just scenery for her act. These concepts and events weren’t about her and her hyper-inflated ego, so of little interest. An incredible amount of talent and money were made available to her and her limited vision. She made a self-indulgent statement trivializing what freedom was about and ignoring the unbelievable human sacrifice that humanity made to preserve it in the 20th century.

The comic tweet by Ezra Levant on his twitter feed that just happened to coincide with Ben Shapiro’s tweet about the Pakistani Christian girl said it all. Ms. Streisand and her now endless whine about the fact that she can’t interior decorate American politics just to her taste (or lack of it), is juxtaposed with a Christian girl in the Middle East faced with horrific injustice. No thanks to Barbara, and probably thanks to Donald Trump, Asia Bibi’s story has a happy ending.

Of course, poor Barbara had to endure so much. Just to remind you of the brutal way she was treated by Hollywood, I thought I’d put up an old clip.

If Barbara wants to leave the country, I can only say “Goodbye Dolly, this is Jimmy, Dolly, it wasn’t all that nice to be forced to endure you all these years…”

    Boss,

I, just like Jordan Peterson, am sick of people manipulating words for weird lefty effect and expecting others to bow to their lunacy. I’m sure on her birth certificate it reads Barbara. So I’m not gonna change it!

I can never tell with all these types who want to move overseas.  Does this mean they are going to renounce their US citizenship and set up shop in a new country?  Or buy a nice new place overseas and hang out for a while while keeping that US passport?

I thought renouncing citizenship is expensive.

In Barbara’s case, she’s been going to the “If X happens/gets elected in this country, I’m moving to Y” at least since Reagan’s presidency, and she’s been openly politically active at least since the Nixon years. Whatever props she might have gotten at the outset within the media for being more than just a ‘mere’ singer/actress has long since dissipated, because her diva behavior has made it impossible for even the celebrity media people to hide the fact that Streisand wants one set of rules for herself and another for the lesser people out and about (with the 2003 lawsuit over her demand that no aerial photos ever be taken of her Malibu home being the final straw for event he die-hard supporters, though South Park already was making fun of her in their earliest episodes two decades ago).

    Ah! I can drop this…

Barbra, Barry Manilow, and Neil Diamond went to high school together.

(At the NY School of the Performing Arts. The school in “Fame”.)

She’s a good singer, and definitely a trooper in the “entertainment community” tradition.

She did an album of classical covers that I liked a lot – my second exposure to Debussy when I was a kid (the first was a late night radio show called Night Sounds, with Bill Pearce. His theme music was Beau Soir, and a more hauntingly beautiful thing is hard to imagine to a lad of 14).

But she doesn’t seem to have a brain in her head. Which is okay with me, I guess, because I don’t have to live with her.

But her occasional outgassing about Trump, and all republicans over the years, is so devoid of any actual content, anything to engage with, that she just comes across as an even sadder Norma Desmond. Her lack of any humility, self-awareness, the merest touch of genuine humor, reveals a basic insecurity and neediness that I guess is common in people who do what she does.  it’s a hard profession to excel in, and most who try fail miserably.  She’s done very well.

I’m sorry she is so unhappy, that her crazy success hasn’t brought her any peace or contentment.

That could be.  My sister in law’s name is misspelled on her birth certificate because her dad filled it out and was guessing on the spelling.

There are better reasons to vote for Republicans, but I guess I’ll add this to the list.  I hope she can get Max Boot to join her. Boot might talk Trudeau into getting into endless wars.

No, Trudeau only uses the military as a back drop for photo ops every 4-5 years. Any war would mean spending money on the military that could be “better” wasted in hotel bills for migrants.

Back in the late 1960s when I was still living in New York, my wife and I were in a store near Columbus Circle one early Saturday morning. The place was practically empty when in walked a short, very overdressed, very ugly woman. My wife said to me that she was Barbara Streisand. My response was that Streisand wasn’t that ugly. I was wrong. It was Streisand.

I remember her dress being white, the skirt flared outward, and she was wearing high boots and a large white hat. It might have been an appropriate outfit on a really beautiful model, but on Streisand it merely served to emphasize her lack of good looks. It made her a spectacle reminding me of my mother’s favorite expression, the things you see when you don’t have a camera or a gun.

She unquestionably had, don’t know if she still does, a great voice for Broadway show tunes. I never bothered to watch any of her movies since I found her totally unattractive, and, when paired with Hollywood’s best looking leading men, she seemed completely out of place, no matter how hard the cinematographer tried to soften her features.

Over the years what I have read of her behavior and politics has further served to make her even uglier in my estimation. Although some of my favorite tunes from the 1970s include her renditions, I can no longer listen to them. Sometimes an artist makes herself so repugnant by her behavior that it is impossible to separate the person from their art.

Well, Boot certainly has no problem with hotel bills for migrants. But the upside of endless wars is from that perspective, it will create many more refugees to take in.
