The Democrat Party: A Nest of Socialist Cranks and Multi-Millionaire Hypocrites

Ever since election night 2016, the Democrat Party — I won’t deign to call something that elitist “democratic” — has been in full-on meltdown mode. Denuded of power at the state and local level, the last bastion of their hopes for political relevance was retaining the Presidency, which was denied them by Donald Trump. We’ve all seen the depths of the psychopathology which have been on display in the wake of that defeat.

However, electoral consequences of that mass-freakout hadn’t had the chance to come to fruition until last night. Primary Season is Crazy Season, and for Democrats, it’s a chance for their assorted nuts and flakes to strut their stuff. Witness the defeat of the number-four-ranking House Democrat, Rep. Joe Crowley, by 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — a self-described “Democratic-Socialist” in the Bernie Sanders mold. Here’s her platform:

Also notable was the victory of Jared Polis in the Colorado Democrat Gubernatorial Primary. Polis, one of the richest members of Congress, ran on a straight-up Progressive platform including state-wide single-payer healthcare and is vying to become the nation’s first openly homosexual Governor. He might even win.

None of this should come as a surprise. My favorite explainer GIF shows exactly what’s been happening to the Democrat Party for 20 years better than any words could:

The average Democrat has moved sharply left over that period of time, creating a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy: In order to win a Democrat primary, you pretty much have to either be a leftist radical or a multimillionaire — or in Polis’s case a leftist radical multimillionaire!

All of this brings to mind the old saw (cut by Pat Caddell) that the Republican Party was the “Stupid Party” and the Democrat Party was the “Evil Party.” Today, however, the Democrats are busy shaving points off of their political IQ by moving relentlessly to the Left, shedding civility, and even any attachment to sanity. This ugly turn has even precipitated a movement among frustrated center-left types to Walk Away from the Democrats.

Brandon Straka, founder of that movement, said the following:

Today I’m kicking off the #WalkAway campaign by releasing my video about why I am walking away from liberalism and the Democratic Party. It is my sincere hope that you will join me in this campaign and that we may start a movement in this country — which not only encourages others to walk away from the divisive left, but also takes back the narrative from the liberal media about what it means to be a conservative in America. It is up to all of us to make our voices heard and reclaim the truth.

The Democratic Party has taken for granted that it owns racial, sexual, and religious minorities in America. It has encouraged groupthink, hypocrisy, division, stereotyping, resentment, and the acceptance of victimhood mentality. And all the while, they have discouraged minorities from having independent thought, open dialogue, measured and informed opinion, and a motivation to succeed.

To put it mildly, this all represents a huge opportunity for Republicans and conservatives. The last thing we should do is stand in the Democrats’ path as they walk towards political oblivion. Let’s just hope that “stupid” doesn’t find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory come November.

What’s your take on what the GOP should do re the retirement of Justice Kennedy? Should Cocaine Mitch bring up the President’s nominee for a vote or should he wait until after the election.

The Joe Crowley defeat was like the Eric Cantor defeat. It says less about the values of the winning candidate and more about the apathy of the local voters and Washington based tunnel vision of politicians. Queens has 700,000 potential voters and only 27,000 voted. Granted Crowley’s defeat was great in my opinion but who he lost to means little in terms of democratic party trends or values.

Always advance.    It’s  a mistake to ponder PR and short term tactics.  That’s their game and what they’ll try to get Republicans to do.  The strategy is to put people on the court who believe the constitution is the law of the land.   So press ahead.  If you get the guy we want, good, if not it’s another reason to get the vote out.

We definitely want the new Justice on the Court for the October term.

The effort will surely enrage the Left… But so be it.  The political advantage of sticking a wedge between the Red State Democrat Senators and the left will only improve our chances of picking up more seats.  This will energize those on the right as well, and the left’s histrionics will depress their base more than they already are.

There’s been something of a positive reinforcement loop over the past half-century that plays out whenever the Democrats have lost control of the White House in a presidential election, and that’s been one where the activists within the party refuse to believe they lost because of their message, but instead believe it was simply a poor candidate or poor messaging.

The loop comes from the media, which over that same time-span has tended to reinforce those feelings and as result, delayed any attempt to at the very least tone down the more radical tendencies in the next presidential election cycle. So after Humphrey’s loss in 1968 the Democrats nominated McGovern with his vastly expanded government support plan; after Carter lost in ’80, the Democrats went with Mondale, who decided to tell the nation during the ’84 convention he was going to raise their taxes; and after Gore lost in 2000, the Democrats somehow thought John Kerry having a military record would allow them to offset Kerry’s role at the forefront of the Vietnam era protests against the military.

Few voices were telling the Democrats in those three elections that their candidates and positions were not going to win over moderate swing voters For the 2018-2020 election cycles, the same thing is happening here only worse in some ways, because the fracturing of the media into smaller and smaller niche outlets have created not just a situation where few people will tell the Democrats their positions are going too far to the left to win back swing voters; they actually have people in the media openly cheering on those moves left, and then being shocked when the latest polls fail to show the moderates moving left with them.

I’m not denying a potential trend for Democrats to swing to the left of their party. And healthcare and single payer is still a big draw for many voters who trend to Democrats. I just think this specific race does not make a national mandate. Politics are local and Crowley stopped serving the people of Queens and was becoming a professional Washington insider. He didn’t even show up to debate his opponent which is very disrespectful to his constituents.

Look at the demographic make-up of her district – not much different, so why should the politics be different ?

    Learn the real lesson.

Start talking frankly to your white Democrat friends, especially the young ones. Explain to them that soon, like Joe Crowley, Nancy Pelosi and other whites, they are only going to be wanted in that party as milk cows, for their money – to pull the wagon full of righteous and resentful minorities that they’ve taught to believe that America is bad.

Don’t be shy. The Ocasio-Cortezes of the world aren’t.

    They’re loaded with conviction.

The graph in the OP explains nothing. It is a snapshot of what today looks like compared to yesterday. It doesn’t say why there is a difference between the two pictures or where it will be next year, or next decade.

The reason the Democrats have moved Left is that they’ve become dominated by racial and ethnic minorities. A graph that showed their share of the overall white vote and another which showed how many Democrats are white compared to non-white would make this change plain.

The Democrats have become the party of anti-whites.

All of you who went along with 40 years of massive immigration from mostly the Third World, no matter how noble, rational or idealistic your reasons, have contributed to this fundamental transformation of one of our two great political parties into a socialist party of resentment.

You imported Venezuela and then wondered why politicians started sounding like Hugo Chavez. Could it be that they’re representing their constituents?

You were born in a country where the worst thing a person could be called was that he was a communist and you watched – allowed – it to become a country where the worst thing a person could be called was that he is a racist – which only applied to whites, to you.

And then you are shocked to discover that communism is getting very popular and white people are told their (hateful) time is over.

Bye, Joe Crowley. Bye, Nancy Pelosi.

In multicultural and multiracial societies, POLITICS IS A SKINS GAME. That’s what explains why the Democrats have moved Left: it’s where their new, imported voters are.

Put that in your “proposition nation” and smoke it.

And once you realize why the Democrats have changed and what it means for America going forward, you will drop all your ludicrous libertarian garbage, all your dear-old-grandma sensitivities, all your Christian guilt complexes, all your suicidal principles and all your short-term crack-pot economics and:

Demand an immediate end to all immigration now and the deportation of all foreign nationals residing illegally in the US.

This was your country. Do you want to hold onto what’s left?

Fight or retreat, one or the other. You can’t do both.

America or Latin America, one or the other. You can’t have both.

I agree mass immigration from populations accustomed to having their (corrupt) governments “take care of them” is a huge (anti-American) problem. But, as I’ve said before, the problem isn’t that they’re Latino (brown) — it’s that they’re socialists. It’s just that these particular socialists are in proximity to the US making it relatively easy for them to invade immigrate. How else do you explain all the white northwestern European socialists who would have the same deleterious effect if they immigrated here and engaged in our politics? I actually know one of these from Britain!

No, it’s not a skins game. It’s an ideas game. American ideas versus the rest of the world.

Are Muslims socialists? Yet which party in the U.K. are they overwhelmingly supportive of, and making it harder Left than it’s ever been?

That would be Labour, formerly the home of white social democrats who participated normally in the British parliamentary system.

Same for Canada, where all of the predominantly immigrant ridings (districts) went heavily for anti-white pajama boy Trudeau. Both Mulroney and Harper were all for immigration, just like the dupes and sell-outs in America’s so-called conservative party. Real smart, eh?

Yes, we have a particular problem with proximity, but that is just geography. As Left-leaning Indians, Arabs, Uzbekis and Chinese arrive in the US they also gravitate in huge numbers to the most anti-white party – the Democrats – and take its platform leftward. That’s what non-whites do.

Franklin Roosevelt knew how to handle this in the 1930s and Dwight Eisenhower knew how in the 1950s. These were great men who valued their nation and its people.

But in the 1960s we were gulled by the insecure sons of immigrants into believing that America was not a distinct people, but instead was a “proposition nation.” Conservatives accepted that Democratic premise…among many others. Thus, the floodgates of immigration from the Third World were opened.

Unfortunately, a proposition can be assented to or questioned. Even denied.

Questioning, denying and transforming are exactly what our post-1965 immigrants do. They find America at fault and sentence you to pay the fine, you sexist, bigot, racist, nativist, Islamaphobe rich person.

And they are not afraid to shout their revolutionary beliefs. Nothing happens to them when they do.

You, on the other hand, are told to be quiet.

Go away, Joe Crowley. You were born white. Prepare to have your taxes raised.

There you go again with your ideas, propositions and abstractions.

You’ve probably spent so much time listening to and reading men who “work” with ideas that you think ideas run the world. They don’t.

And what American ideas are you talking about? Gay marriage? The New Deal? No prayer in schools? Abortion on demand? Affirmative action?

Massive immigration from the Third World is an American idea. (What other country in history ever thought of that?) and look! It’s caught on, in Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands. Let’s hear it for us!

There is no American idea. There is the American people. Protect them, their past and their posterity, from those who would destroy both.

I just disagree. Setting up a white versus brown conflict is a no-win proposition. I think it’s fair to ask lefty socialists what they think should be done with white people, given their underlying assumption about white people being the problem. But, it’s the Left that’s racist, not us. It’s irredeemably racist with its emphasis on identity politics. That’s what needs to be argued.

The advantage we have at the moment is how rabidly insane the Left is about Trump. It’s starting to open young people’s eyes to the toxicity of the ideology.

Ideas drive cultures and societies, not skin color. They can be good ideas (the American founding) or bad ideas (leftism, Islamism,…), and leftism with its emphasis on racial identity is particularly malignant. We need to get better at pointing that out (even using emotional appeals, per Andrew Klavan).

    Danger on the Left.

And it’s no coincidence that once our nationhood was determined by adherence to ideas, ideas which like any others were open to interpretation, that we stopped assimilating newcomers.

After all, who we were was now open to question. Everybody has an opinion. (This is America, right?)

You say we’re the beacon of liberty? Well, I say we’re a racist imperialist oligarchy. And that fellow over there says America was born of original sin.

With nothing concrete to stand on, with our feet sinking in words and principles instead of real things like blood and the past, assimilation became difficult and then impossible. So we didn’t forget about it; we gave up trying.

    Think about that.

Generals fight the last war. Journalists analyze the last election.

Patrick McDermott looks at the likely future. For an insightful guide to what’s coming for the US thanks to what is euphemistically called demographic change, but which is actually a deliberate policy of massive Third World immigration into America, take 15 minutes and read this:

    https://vdare.com/articles/the-racial-realignment-of-american-politics

You may not want to live in the coming USA and you may not think it’s good or right, but you let it happen because you believed a lot of fairy stories.

Time to prepare to be the strong horse, not the apologetic, wishy-washy weak horse.

    End all immigration now.

Start explaining to your white liberal friends that the Democrats may say that they’re going to pay for their giveaway programs for the “poor” by taxing Wall Street, but what they’ve really got an eye on are those IRAs and 401-Ks sitting there that you thought would be yours.

(I mean, what is the color of the sky on the planet where Wall Street gets hammered but the middle class doesn’t?)

It’s time for consciousness-raising. Most white liberals and moderates have convictions about equality that are paper-thin, as gossamer as the platitudes those ideas really are. Talk to them about what’s on the horizon, for them and for their children.

Bring more whites into the GOP. That’s the idea who’s time has come.

Sorry, @freesmith. I think you’re conflating Left with brown. The Left has all these noxious ideas and ambitions. They may exploit brown people to get there, but I’m much more focused on fighting the Left. As part of that, we should greatly restrict immigration for some time, I agree. But, any conflict you set up between white people and non-whites is a loser for all of us. I want to keep all the socialists out, whatever their color. We have more than enough already.

The Frankfurt School, Saul Alinsky, and insidious “progressive” collectivism dating back to Woodrow Wilson (if not earlier), culminating in 1968 and the literal takeover of university dean’s offices.
