Do the Democrats Want a Civil War? We Need to Know

As you may have noticed, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) is at it again. This time, she has picked up on the fact that some of the leftist thugs in our midst have taken to harassing members of the Trump administration, refusing to serve them when they sit down at an eatery, driving them from restaurants, and making a racket outside their homes.

Here is what she said: “If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

To their credit, Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have distanced themselves from Congresswoman Waters, and Paul Ryan has quite properly called on her to apologize for her remarks — which, of course, she has not done.

Let me suggest that it is time for the Republicans in the House of Representatives to show a little backbone (or pretend that they have one) and introduce a motion censuring Maxine Waters for her remarks.

There will be midterm elections in November. It is the perfect time to separate the sheep from the goats and force the Democrats in the House of Representatives to take a stand against the species of incivility advocated by Maxine Waters … or stand in her defense. The people of this country have a right to know where the Democrats stand.

The Republicans will probably let the opportunity pass by. They rarely if ever do anything to put the Democrats on the defensive.

The “If a Republican Had Done it” game is way too easy to play. But we know that “if a Republican had done it” it would dominate the news cycle for weeks, with every Republican from the Senate on down to a local county commissioner being asked whether they endorse those words.

Not like she is a Republican– doesn’t need to act like a person of dignity!

However, a colleague has reassured me that voters are so apathetic that they are unlikely to do anything about this… though I must say he had not heard about the animal carcase or the AG in Florida whowas physically harrassed at the movies…

They’ve said enough horrible things on their own that I don’t credit them at all. Waters just went a little farther than they do by a few small increments.

Censure the whole damn Democratic Party.

Boot her out of congress.  She’s clearly a nutjob.  They booted Adam Clayton Powell and as best I can recall, he wasn’t calling for violence against government officials..

    Inciting violence

US Constitution article 1 section 5 clauses 1&2 allow the House to expel members for “disorderly behavior”.  If any Rep ever fit the bill, Maxine does.

Let’s see if mr Ryan has any cojones. Toss her out.

Lou Dobbs was all over Maxine tonight. (Fox Business News channel  – it repeats at 10Pm EDT)

We need this stopped and stopped now. We have already witnessed the critical wounding of Congressman Scalise by a Leftist shooter.

Make her the star of very single congressional GOP campaign ad. Break out the Best Of quotes of Waters at her Waters-iest. Then end with:

“A vote for (the Democrat) is a vote for Maxine Waters as [ ] House committee chair.”

Go with P.J. O’Rourke’s New Enemies List. Blanket the airwaves with her every utterance until even her own family is sick of her.

Somebody-can’t remember who-described Maxine Waters as the unchallenged new face of the democrat party, something which we should be rejoicing over: I thought it couldn’t get better than Nancy Pelosi, but it does…..

Indeed. And the needless suffering of innocent Americans that will be unleashed should a Second Civil War break out will be on the Democrats’ hands.

Civil war?  Our side tends to be armed.  Their side tends not to be (in fact, rejects ever being armed) and many these days have no personal transportation.  It wouldn’t be a fair fight.

Last year I reviewed the book Madness Rules the Hour. It was about the run-up to the Civil War in Charleston. I see an awful lot of parallels between what the fire eaters were doing in 1860 Charleston and today’s Resistance.

The fire eaters did not believe their rhetoric would lead to a war. They thought their blustering would intimidate and cow the rest of the nation. So does the Resistance today. But the fire eaters were wrong. The Resistance should buy a clue from history, but they will not.

Elaine Chao and Mitch McConnell were accosted by “protesters” (fascists) last night.

No.  We would have to boot most of  Congress out of Congress if it were.

Schumer’s and Pelosi’s statements are pretty weak.

I would keep hammering the point that Democrats support violence against those who disagree with them A vote for a Democrat is a vote for violence.

This is the appropriate remedy.  This situation is not just about Maxine, it about all of the Progressive Left and it’s behavior.  We need to know whether the Left still supports the right of   free speech and in effect the right to disagree. A vote to censure forces the entire Democrat Congressional body to take stand, which they absolutely do not want to do.

BTW, I think it is kind of funny and ironic that the SJW protestors attacked China’s man in the Senate Mitch McConnell and his wife Elaine Chow. If anyone could be accused of caring the Left’s water in the Senate, it is McConnell.  His bobbing, weaving  and betrayal of the country over the years has been so elaborate and so fake that it is disgusting. He has caused some real damage. Maybe  ol’ Mitch will finally see what side his toast is buttered on.  I’m not betting on it though.

Wait! I have to stop you there. Part of a good commercial is being able to clearly understand what the person said. I could not make out what exactly she was ranting about until I had listened to it a couple of times and then had some of it translated by FoxNews. It will sound like a stream of venting to most people. I would recommend putting her words down in writing and let people read them. But if a sound bite you must have, most people will need subtitles to understand her, IMO.

It doesn’t take many ‘armed revolutionaries’ to cause havoc – and death. The Weather Underground was a genuine menace. The fact that its members are now part of the establishment leads one to wonder if the FBI would be quite so diligent in seeking to stop an armed #Resistance movement today.

Obviously Maxine Waters is what her district wants.  She has been crazy and evil for years,  yet she gets easily reelected.  She should be expelled,  but the replacement will be just as nutty and malevolent– they might even send her back after re-election.
