Guess Who?
Guess which highly intelligent, incredibly handsome, and extremely modest Ricochet member got his letter printed in the latest issue of National Review?
I guess Rich Lowry will be calling about that opening they have…
Published in General
Was it Susan Quinn. She?
I did not find your name in the current author’s list. So who?
They printed my letter? Sweet!
Congratulations! Link?
It may be behind a pay firewall (it’s the second one):

Only if you’re the other guy whose letter also got printed. Hehe . . .
I thought they’d be put off by the words and letters I cut out of newspapers and magazines … but I guess not.
Congrats Stad! Nicely done.
It was probably that $50k ransom request to get Kevin Williamson back that put them off . . .
Thanks! You should have seen the eye roll my wife made when I asked her if she wanted me to autograph the magazine . . .
The other neat thing is it was actually two separate letters I e-mailed, so they combined them. Also, those were the first two letters I’ve ever sent to NR. Hopefully my ego will deflate by dinner . . .
Stad, I can’t find it on the page. Help!
Sent you a PM with the link again. Just scroll down to the second letter. Good luck!
Woo-hoo!! Well done, Stad!
Wow. Congrats!
Thank you, thank you everyone! I’d stand up and bow, but then I’d spill my beer . . .
Why aren’t you that articulate on Ricochet?
See comment #16 . . .
Outstanding!
Nice going, Stad.
It’s a gift . . .
Can you still wear a hat?
Let’s see , knees gone, golf finishes the back. Know what goes next don’t you?
I have had *two* letters printed in NR. One on Bach and parallel fifths which drew “well I guess that means that!” or some such from WFB. The other on my Questar telescope, once owned by Barry Goldwater. I got phone calls from friends on both of them.
Well, that about wraps it up for Stad since he’ll be spending all his time at swanky D C cocktail parties and NR cruises. It was nice knowing you.
Very well written, Stad!
Ramesh P. and Yuval L. needed killing on that point, and you took care of it.
I noticed that with NR you share your full name and location, but with your good buddies here at Ricochet…poof, poof. We only get a pseudonym. That’s OK, I totally understand. Nice job with the letter. Congrats.
Well, Stad has been my nickname for a long time, and the Ricochetti I’ve met at Meetups know it. See? You need to come to Ricochet Meetups, where everyone is unmasked!
He probably wouldn’t be allowed to make jokes about his wife beating him with a frying pan if he used his real name on Ricochet.
Oh good! Will Samantha Powers and Susan Rice be there too?
