Hair Salon Owner in Iowa Fights Back Against Liberal Attacks

Ivanka Trump was making an appearance in Des Moines and she went to a local hair salon to have her hair done. When some other patrons of this salon heard about Ms. Trump’s visit, they responded the way you would expect. They initiated a social media storm, calling for a boycott of the salon and swearing never to go there again. Fortunately, the salon owner did not yield to the crap being thrown at her.

Any Ricochet members who live in the Des Moines area, check out Salon Spa W and give Ms. China Wong kudos for her response to the Facebook slam.

This kind of thing happens way too often, especially to the friends and family of our President, and it just makes me want to throw things and scream. As has been said often here on Ricochet, liberals destroy everything, including trying to destroy peoples’ livelihoods.

My liberal ex-girlfriend introduced me to the phrase “haters gotta hate”, whenever I would want to discuss the news of the day, and make any observation that questioned the liberal orthodoxy.

I never felt like a hater, just an ordinary person who is skeptical of things that don’t make sense, hoping for an explanation.

But wow are there some haters out there.

How can a thoughtful person be on the side of this kind of behavior?

Des Moines ain’t Manhattan. The salon’s business won’t suffer much, except for Democratic virtue signalers, and Democrats are lousy tippers.

Bruce, no thought whatsoever is involved.  Remember, liberals FEEL, conservatives THINK.  They hate Mr. Trump so much, their hatred extends to his entire family.

Ms. RushBabe, I want to think that lefties are just like us, just a little sillier.  Then I read about these mean-spirited and vindictive liberals who, apparently seething with self-hate, would take pleasure in destroying a woman’s livelihood. My god, I hope these ladies are a tiny percentage of the Left. Otherwise, this country is really in trouble.

Why do you want to throw things and scream when they just got done giving you some fresh new weapons to use against them?

    From the attached article;

Another Facebook user commented, “Will never book an appointment at this salon again. Total bum out. This salon employs hetero/non-hetero individuals and this just truly sucks. The fact that Salon Spa W was inclusive was always a big A + to me. You put your money where your mouth is as your vote. I loved this salon. I’m so, so disappointed and I can’t imagine how your non-cisgender employees/clients feel. Fail. Won’t ever be back.”

What is the lady trying to say? It’s just a bunch of gibberish. And I love how according to her inclusiveness means denying access to those you disagree with.

Long story short, since Ivanka went there she won’t anymore. I think.

What is it with non-cis gendered?  Are people blind, deaf and dumb?

At our medical group meeting yesterday I was asked if I want to establish a trans-gender service.  I politely declined, noting that I have treated several such patients and that their issues are not simply hormonal.  One waits for the excrement to hit the fan.

The owner sort of brought this on herself.  She should have refused service of Ivanka Trump or at least be smart enough not to post pictures on her FaceBook page. It will be sad if they end up shutting her down but that is the free market.

That is why we keep our politics close. Small business owners cannot afford to be openly conservative as much as liberal ones can declare their political views.

The left is mean and vindictive. I hope this salon loses the lousy tippers and gets better customers.

Posts threatening the business, and this is a personal threat because the posters know the owner,  with ruin because of other customers they serve should be hate speech.

What she should have done was not be on Facebook, period.

As I like to note whenever the topic comes up, Trump is the first AND ONLY openly pro-gay marriage candidate to become President.

This culture with social media and our youth are being taught that targeting people maliciously is an ok way to communicate. Many of them also can’t function – they fall apart with the least bit of criticism, and can’t take rejection or any form of diverse thought, lest they go running to their safe spaces – and schools, politics and social platforms are promoting it.  It’s hypocrisy – treat others as you want to be treated isn’t taught anymore.  It is so obvious that morals, values and hope passed onto us through faith and traditional family meant something – a Godless society has an ugly side.

I can understand not wanting to go to a salon after finding out that certain celebrities gets their hair done there.  Like Don King, Phil Specter, or Lyle Lovett.  Ivanka Trump’s hair looks very nice, though.

Assuming that the boycotters are on the left, what is so mind-blowingly stupid is that they aren’t even protesting an actual right-winger.  It would be one thing (albeit still stupid) if lefties boycotted the place where Ted Cruz gets his hair cut.  But Ivanka Trump is on their side.  She is a Democrat who has the ear of the president.  They ought to be happy that she has any influence at all.

What @kayofmt and @rushbabe49 said.  I do think loud and obnoxious leftists are a minority in the country (otherwise they would have put me against the wall already), though no longer a tiny minority.  The country is already in trouble.

Guilty as charged.  Except for the part of being a persnickety young person.  On that charge I must protest my innocence.  Persnickety, sure, but it’s been a long time since anyone could call me young.
