Tucker Carlson’s Summary of the Manafort Indictment
Fox News host Tucker Carlson broke some Russia news this week:
“In the meantime, if you’re looking for a summary of all of this — here’s the one-sentence Cliff note to the whole affair: The chairman of one major presidential campaign colluded with the brother of the chairman of the other major presidential campaign to enrich themselves by secretly advancing the interests of a foreign adversary. That happened. That’s the swamp they told you that needed to be drained.”
“[T]oday Tony Podesta resigned as head of his company,” Carlson said. “His excuse? Us. That’s right. He blamed us. In his parting statement, Podesta said this, quote, ‘It is impossible to run a public affairs firm by Fox News and the right-wing media. Well, Podesta isn’t just complaining about us — he’s threatening us. This afternoon, we got a letter from Geoff Garinther. Its a lawyer with Venable LLP, a big law firm here in DC. The letter demands that this show, quote, ‘immediately cease and desist disseminating false and misleading reports about Mr. Podesta and the Podesta Group.’”
The MSM is desperately trying to suppress the real story and make Manafort the only bad guy. Tucker has the real story.

Tucker is hot on it. The truth is you could probably randomly pick people out of the D.C. phone book and indict them for the same thing with what Manafort has been charged. It’s a swamp.

Pappa~ is small change that lied to the FBI. There is nothing to him unless they can extort him into lying about other people. My summation at this point: If Manafort goes down so does Podesta. It is much more likely for Podesta to be directly connected to the Clintons than Manafort to Trump.
It is clear that the entire Democrat-Hillary Campaign-trusted MSM gang knew about Manafort/Russia-Ukraine two years ago because Podesta was his partner!!! I don’t have a word low enough to describe what they are.

Pappa is being touted as the savior for the impeach crowd. The next day or two I expect a flurry of collusion/emails/Russia/obstruction articles involving him.

Tucker is living in an alternative universe. I was in college during Watergate. This sure feels like January-February, 1973.
The Michael Graham podcast (last week?) with Tucker was great . A good discussion of the issues in the GOP coalition. The sparring over the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were illuminating as well. From both viewpoints. I really wish the GOP leadership and Trump Administration would listen to guys like him and Ben Domenech of the Federalist.
Mind altering drugs were pretty popular back then and remain so today. They produce odd and sometimes enjoyable feelings.
We in Tucker’s universe are quite happy with his lucid humor and fearlessness. Point of view is always relevant, so follow on questions abound from your statement.
Watergate was a low-grade scandal. It was, though, the coming-out party for the becoming invincible progressive media. The whole affair stank of the swamp, and Trickie Dickie will historically be viewed as a fairly successful president. He wound down LBJ’s war and opened China.
I know feelings are paramount to progressives, so it’s interesting to hear about your feelings in 1973. No quid pro quo or correlation intended.
The day that Nixon resigned, he still had 50% support from Republican voters.
I am an Anti-Trump conservative, not a progressive. I haven’t voted for a Democrat for president since 1972. (Hey, I was in college then.)
Nixon did end the Vietnam war, and opened China. He also obstructed justice and should have been impeached.

Apparently, some of us never grow up. It was Jack Kennedy (Mr. Missile Gap who insisted that the old man Eisenhower wasn’t tough enough) and Lyndon Johnson (Mr. fight communism abroad while we institute it here in the USA) who got us up to our necks in Viet Nam. Richard Nixon was a scapegoat for the phony absurdity of 1960s liberalism. Obama screamed over and over about Bush & Iraq and then plunged into Libya like there was no tomorrow.
It’s time to grow up. Mueller is a ghoul. His pal Comey is completely corrupt. They knew about Manafort all along because Podesta was Manafort’s partner! They’ve implicated themselves by trying to destroy Trump for a year and a half. Now they attempt to beat a phony confession out of Manafort or Papadopoulos. This is perverse in itself.
Hillary Clinton was patently guilty of 5 felonies two of which didn’t require the proof of intent. Her pattern of lying and evidence destruction is the standard proof of intent anyway. Comey and his pal wouldn’t prosecute her even though it was a year and a half before the election and the Democrats could have found somebody else. Now you want a sitting President to be impeached on phony charges and dragged down so you can feel nostalgic for your wet behind the ears memories of 1973. I was 20 at the time and I wouldn’t want that grand evil on my conscience ever again.
Just curious but do you feel any shame whatsoever?

I do not feel an ounce of shame. I love my country, more than my party. I belong to the Republican Party, not the Party of Trump.
I think that we are living in separate universes. The evidence is mounting against Trump, and it took the Watergate Special Counsel about a year and a half to prove that Nixon was lying. Ask me how I feel in a year.
I support Trump’s policies on Obamacare, taxes, judges and regulations, my issue with Trump is his complete lack of character and honesty. Pence would do a good job, and he does not have all of the Trump corruption. (Ford did a good job when he became President after Nixon’s resignation.)

Your concerns seem absurd on their face. No evidence at all is mounting against Trump. Other than the relentless innuendo lying without any evidence there is the possibility that phony allegations will be extorted out of helpless defendants. They have already had a year and a half and so far the evidence that connects the Podestas to this Russia/Ukraine deal is the strong evidence that the Clintons are directly implicated. Once again we aren’t interested in indicting them, are we? The collusion scandal has already had a year and a half. Exactly how many years should your witch hunt be allowed to go on?

Ford was ineffectual. The emboldened Democrat establishment decided to neglect one of our allies (and embolden our adversaries worldwide) and the result was a communist Vietnam and the killing fields of Cambodia, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The Democratic party then, benefitted from Soviet meddling in our country and its electoral processes, in particular by funding the anti-war movement. Why our very own Peter Robinson would later write the article detailing how Teddy Kennedy begged the soviets to intervene in our 1984 election, pay no price for it and is today lauded as the ‘Lion of the Senate’.
The problem Ford had was huge Democratic majorities in Congress, and the Southern Democrats and Republicans were outnumbered. Nonetheless, he played his cards pretty well.
So I went and looked. Meh, he did ok – too bad he couldn’t close the deal and spare us the Carter years.
As to the Mayaguez incident, I applaud his courage in ordering the rescue. The fact that Admiral Coogan wasn’t disciplined nor felt the need to resign having left at least three men behind speaks both of the time and the nature of leadership. That wouldn’t fly today.
Mueller has been on the job for less than six months. It took 15 months from the appointment of the first Special Counsel in Watergate until Nixon’s resignation. Check back with me in nine months.

Mueller was FBI Director when Obama was President and Hillary was Sec. of State. He suppressed the real massive evidence of Russian collusion and payoffs by the Clintons. He is not objective in any way and probably should be investigated himself. He is extorting phony confessions from people. You know the way Putin did with the Nemtsov murder to cover his own guilt.
There is no checking back this is pure garbage right now.
