I Walton: Cruz his second appointment to the court to to replace Ginsburg or any of the liberals, just to watch all the heads explode.

Three Four benefits to a Cruz appointment over anyone else:

    1. It will help heal the party.
    2. The Senate will be so happy to be rid of him, he’ll sail through the nominating process.
    3. His arrival to the Court will likely spur mass retirements.
    4. It will irritate the hell out of the left for decades to come.

    I. M. Fine:As difficult on some levels as it may be, Trump would do well to reach out to at least one (or more) of the primary candidates he beat. This would be a good first step to begin to consolidate the party and build bridges. I would nominate Carly Fiorina for either treasury or commerce.

I think it would be great if he found a place for her, although I’d really like someone with some technology smarts looking at the “cyber.”

    James Gawron:MamaT,

Amazing that nobody hasn’t already said it. Rudy Giuliani for AG. Before becoming mayor of NYC he was a tough federal prosecutor who was very good at “high profile” cases.

    Regards,

    Jim

I’m putting my money on Kris Kobach for AG, actually. Kobach was one of Trump’s early endorsements and has been invaluable in drafting voter ID and state immigration legislation. He’s a Harvard, Yale, and Oxford grad, Secretary of State of Kansas, and ambitious as sin.

Mike Lee as the next Supreme Court Justice.  He has the chops and the temperament.  He is a true Constitutionalist.  And Utah can be relied on to send another Republican to replace him in the Senate.

Is Rudy G. qualified for AG?

Milo in front of the press would be outrageous. The press would be utterly intimidated the second the walked into the room.

And he’s 72. Even if he’s not knocking on death’s door, a cabinet position is a heck of a lot of stress for a man that old, even if perfectly healthy.

Regarding Lee and Cruz for Supreme Court- I’d really like Lee to stay in the Senate pitching ideas. He’s the best we’ve got there in terms of proposing lots of conservative solutions that would make the country better. For Scalia’s seat, find someone Cruz, Lee, Thomas, and Alito agree on.

Save Cruz for when we need a “Harriet Myer.” Imagine the FUROR that would engulf the left if Cruz was nominated to “The Notorious RBG’s” seat. He could take the nomination, take the heat, then withdraw and let someone with a lower profile slide in.

Cruz also currently sits on the Senate Judiciary committee. I can’t think of a better person I want suggesting justices for all courts than Cruz, and vetting them as they come through.

Larry Koler:Christie? I have real trouble with him. I don’t trust him.

Indeed. Please note well this distrust among your supporters and among those who would be inclined to view your administration charitably, Mr. Trump.

I don’t know what Larry’s objections are, mine start out with ‘Bridgegate.’ Confirmation is too problematic to attempt. Giuliani for AG. Christie is going to have to wait in the wings for a bit.

With the Wisconsin win, Trump needs to call Walker and say, “Any job you want is yours, but I think you’re more valuable where you are and I’ll offer Ron Johnson something while you pick his successor. I trust your instincts.”

    Mister D:Jim Geraghty for EPA.

How about Geraghty for the Weed Agency?  Seriously, I’d like to see a the creation of a “weed agency” whose task is to “weed out” bad regulations.  My definition of a “bad regulation” is one that puts the force of government behind a special interest, whether that interest is an individual, company, or NGO.

Do you mean that Trump should ask President Obama’s press secy to stay on the job? That seems like a very bad idea, seeing what a shill for the Obama legacy Earnest is…
